Who’s Behind NBA Basketball School Portugal?

Warrior Symbol, an Portuguese-owned sports management company focused on grassroots basketball development, has partnered with The National Basketball Association (NBA) to launch and operate the first NBA Basketball School in Portugal.

NBA Basketball School provides an additional avenue for young players to learn the game and refine their skills under the tutelage of established coaches with proven training techniques. Together with Warrior Symbol, beginners and advanced players alike will experience world-class training to elevate their game.

As Vice President of Basketball Operations at NBA ASIA for 10 years, Carlos Barroca had the opportunity to get to know the entire professional structure of the NBA, and the great stars that delight those who follow the most famous basketball championship in the world. He left his mark with some “fantastic” achievements, with emphasis on the opening of the NBA Academy in India, the first NBA Basketball School in the world, also in India, the Guinness World record with Kevin Durant, the ACG NBA Jump, the massive launch of the Jr. NBA program, the opening of the NBA Basketball School in Sydney, among others.
Distinguished as Comendador da Ordem do Infante D. Henrique, he worked on television as a commentator for RTP and SportTV, having also been an international athlete and professional coach.
Upon returning to Portugal, in early 2024, he assumed the role of Ambassador for NBA Basketball School Portugal. Welcome Carlos Barroca!
